What is Cranial Osteopathy?

Cranial osteopathy is a subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses gentle techniques to encourage the release of stressors, tension and restrictions in the body's ligaments, bones and fascia from head to toe.

The head (cranium) is made up of many bones joined together, which allows it to change shape to accommodate the movement of the brain, cerebral fluid and blood flow inside the skull. When normal movement of these bones is disrupted, for example from a head injury, this disrupts the normal flow inside the skull creating restrictions and dysfunction.

Cranial osteopathy can help to release these restrictions and aid normal functioning movement of the cranium. It is a gentle but effective technique that can be used on people of all ages.
