Chris Eke - Osteopath Specialising in Sports Injuries

Chris Eke BSc(Hons)Ost

Chris Eke graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1998 and specialises in the biomechanical assessment and treatment of Sports Injuries.

A former professional rugby player, Chris has worked in specialised clinics in France, New Zealand and the USA treating a wide range of age groups and conditions...

...he uses a variety of structural treatment techniques complemented by the use of Acupuncture, Electrotherapy and Orthotics. Chris also lectures in Podiatric Biomechanics, Gait Analysis, Injury Prevention, Osteopathic Technique and Orthotic Prescription.

Andy Ireland - Physiotherapist

Andy Ireland Bsc Physiotherapy, Msc Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy - Physiotherapist

Andy Ireland graduated from Teesside University, completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with distinction in 1993 and is registered with the Health Professions Council.

He worked in the NHS until 2000, developing his skills in orthopaedics and outpatients treating a wide variety of spinal pathologies, sporting injuries and musculoskeletal problems. He went on to complete his Master's degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at University College London, where he graduated with distinction in 2003. From 2003 he was lead Physiotherapist for the LTA at the UK's National Tennis Centre where he further developed his skills in injury prevention, biomechanical analysis, and treatment, working for several years as Physiotherapist for the British Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams. He was also British Tennis Physio at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

From 2007 to 2013 he worked and travelled with Andy Murray as his personal Physiotherapist on the ATP World Tour.

Working in private practice, Andy has extensive experience working with a wide variety of clients, from private individuals through to professional athletes. He has an excellent understanding of injuries, biomechanics and rehabilitation, and a caring and professional approach.

Alison Cole

Alison Cole

Alison graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2002 and specialises in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal problems.

Extensive work in the NHS, as well as in the private sector has enabled her to gain expertise in treating a broad spectrum of clients. Her special interests in shoulder conditions and spinal rehabilitation stems from working alongside Orthopaedic Specialists at Imperial College NHS Trust, one of London's top teaching hospitals. Alison uses a combination of manual 'hands on' therapy, acupuncture and specific exercise therapy to fine tune muscle function.

Kate Sweetman - Sports Therapist

Kate Sweetman B.Sc.(Hons) - Sports Therapist

Kate studied Sports Therapy at Kent University and graduated in 2008.

She enjoys working with people of all ages and treating a range of injuries and problems; specialising in sports injuries and re-habilitation. Kate is also a reflexologist and the lead therapist at Old Verulamiums Rugby Club.

In her spare time, Kate takes a keen interest in keeping fit and enjoys a range of sports.

Colin Wareham - Gait Analysis

Colin Wareham

Colin has been offering Gait Analysis and sport shoe advice for the last 7 years in Harpenden and throughout Hertfordshire.

Colin has been trained by Dartfish, Sidas Podiatech, Asics, New Balance and Brooks in Biomechanics and the use of Video Gait Analysis. He has worked with Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and Sports Massage therapists.

Colin founded the local 'Harpenden Arrows' Running Club with whom he continues to run. In the last 5 years he has completed numerous races including endurance events, half marathons and two marathons.

Satu has Masters in Personalised Nutrition with distinction from Center of Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management, an arm of University of Middlesex, after previously dedicating 3 years to the programme pioneered by Patrick Holford, world-renowned nutritional guru, at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition. Satu applies Functional Medicine principals into her practice and is further completing certification to become a Certified Gluten Practitioner.

Nutrition and lifestyle choices play a critical role in recovery and sustainable wellbeing. Satu uses evidence-based personalised dietary and lifestyle recommendations to help the individuals to improve their health, sports performance, energy levels, and overall wellbeing for improved healthy longevity.

Chenine Bruley - Cranial Osteopath

Chenine Bruley BSc(Hons) MOst

Chenine graduated from the British School of Osteopathy with a Masters of Osteopathy. Chenine's first degree was an honours degree in Human Biology at King's College London where her interest in anatomy and physiology and the way the body works and functions grew.

As well as working structurally, Chenine treats using cranial osteopathic techniques, which are particularly effective on children and in the treatment of headaches.

In her spare time Chenine enjoys swimming, cycling, pilates and is a keen dancer, participating in modern jive dancing in London and Hertfordshire.

Karen Shipton - Soft Tissue and Remedial Sports Massage Therapist

Karen Shipton

Soft Tissue and Remedial Sports Massage Therapist.

Karen Shipton is a qualified Soft Tissue and Remedial Sports Massage Therapist, having graduated with a Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy with the London School of Sports Massage.

She works in conjunction with our therapy team, focusing on re-aligning muscle length and reducing muscle stiffness through various different massage techniques including Myofascial Release, Soft Tissue Release, Neuromuscular Technique and Muscle Energy Techniques, amongst others. She currently treats a range of patients from both sporting and non-sporting backgrounds.

Karen has worked in the sports industry for many years as a qualified exercise to music instructor and is a keen runner, having completed many marathons and half marathons. She combines her training schedule with a regular Ashtanga Yoga practice, conscious of the importance of realigning the muscles and maintaining an effective stretching regime.

Georgina Sanders is qualified in Sports and Remedial massage, gaining BTEC & ITEC certificates from the London School of Massage.

Georgina also has qualifications in Advanced Myoskeletal Therapy and a range of holistic treatments including Hot & Cold Stone Therapy, Reflexology and Shiatsu.

Additionally Georgina holds certificates in a variety of beauty therapies, nutrition and is a First Aid Instructor. Georgina is a keen sports and fitness enthusiast and holds a Black Belt in Shaolin Kung Fu. She balances exercise and nutrition into a healthy lifestyle that is strongly incorporated into the therapy ethic she communicates to clients.

Matthew Walker

Matthew Walker

Matthew graduated with a Master's degree from the British School of Osteopathy.

His interest and passion for osteopathy originated whilst competing at a professional level in martial arts. A sports injury resulted in an introduction to the benefits of osteopathic treatment.

Matthew has gained a wealth of experience from working with a wide range of patients including geriatrics, athletes and those with acute and chronic conditions.

He offers and employs a variety of structural techniques based on the age, physique and nature of the complaint his patients report.

Peter Dipple

Peter Dipple

Peter is qualified in Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy (BTEC level 5) and studied at the renowned London School of Sports Massage, he is also qualified in Deep Tissue, Acupressure, Thai, Swedish and Indian Head massage and has trained all over the world including Thailand, Hawaii, Arizona and most of Europe.

Peter's unique blend of skills and techniques has led him to practice throughout the UK, Europe and the United States. He has worked extensively with Olympic, Paralympic and athletes from a variety of sports, including tennis, rugby, running, boxing, football, swimming, hockey as well as. He also has a breadth of experience treating people from non-sporting backgrounds with years of experience of working in a clinical environment.

Peter was head of sports massage and managed a number of massage therapists across 7 London clinics, lead therapist for Harpenden RFC and also currently works with the academy players for the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

A key part of Peter's work is establishing the root cause and muscle groups affected by injuries, providing massage and assisting with rehabilitation and future injury prevention. Peter believes that massage is a necessity, not a luxury and, as such, his technique often involves a bespoke approach, producing an individual and personal programme of treatment.
