..the orthotics you made me..helped correct my posture, my running style was the root cause of the injuries..

Testimonials - Chris Eke BSc(Hons)Osteopath

I came to see you about 7 weeks ago, and was in a lot of discomfort, walking very short distances. I mentioned that I play a lot of sport, mainly cycling. I was 4 weeks away from going to Nepal, trekking to Everest Base Camp.

You kindly fitted me with the orthotics, and I had a few days to get used to them, before trekking 8 to 10 hours a day, in Nepal, over the past 3 weeks. I just wanted to feedback, that they have been superb. I was really struggling to walk, without some extreme discomfort, 7 weeks ago. Over the past 3 weeks, zero sign of discomfort. I have used the inserts, every step of the way.

Just to say a big thank you. I really appreciate your help.

Following disc surgery in my lower back and a period of acute knee pain that wouldn't settle down in the late 1990s, Chris identified the relationship between my symptoms and the fallen arches in my feet. Since then I have played twelve seasons of International and Premiership Rugby, including two World Cup campaigns all in my orthotics and I wouldn't be without them.

I had suffered from headaches for about 20 years, so after exhausting my GP's advice and every over the counter pain killer, I stumbled across Chris. I had zero expectation and imagined a neck rub or something similar to release the tension for a short while. After successful manipulation sessions including acupuncture which helped with the symptoms, Chris suggested taking a look at my feet explaining that my gait/posture might be the root cause. I had tailor-made orthotics fitted in 2008 and I've never looked back! I wear them in everything - from running trainers, work shoes even ski boots. Not to sound too dramatic, but they have changed my life I can hardly remember what it was like to suffer with daily headaches - they are a thing of the past. Thank you Chris!

I recently started taking part in triathlons and although previously active had always been a swimmer. Cycling and running appeared to cause my feet to go completely numb within a very short period of time and although not painful was making running anything longer than 10k uncomfortable and I often struggled to walk properly after getting off of the bike. I had also been on several horrible ski trips where after an hour I would be unable to feel anything below mid-calf. A triathlete at my club recommended Chris to see what (if anything) could be done. Chris quickly identified that my issue was due to my insteps collapsing but due to an unusual curvature in my lower legs leading to abnormally high arches it had been previously overlooked. We tried orthotics to see if it helped and the difference is amazing. I can run and cycle for as long as I want to (or my legs hold up) and had a wonderful skiing holiday with my family. I wear my orthotics all of the time, run and cycle in them and have had inserts for my ski boots and my running shoes made as well. I wouldn't be without them.

Having worn a multitude of insoles for the best part of my career, the orthotics you made me, have really helped correct my posture and improved the way I walk. They are so comfortable; you don't even notice you're wearing them.

Just a quick note to say thank you very much for fitting and ordering my orthotics. They have made a great difference to my sporting and everyday life, and it was easier and quicker to get used to them than I thought it would be. As well as correcting the initial problem of collapsed arches I no longer get tired legs when on my feet for some time. I was also experiencing a recurring injury on the outside of my right knee, but since I have been playing rugby with the orthotics in I have not had a hint of that injury. As a result of using the orthotics I am able to do more exercise than before with less pain and injury.

After running constantly, week in week out for about 15 years, I suddenly suffered a string of calf muscle injuries, that although minor, meant I couldn't run for periods of time. I endured a number of frustrating trips to various physiotherapists that would result in a verdict of no particular reason for the injury, and the advice to rest, only to get the same injury in a different spot in either calf a few months later.

Chris was the first person to undertake a full assessment of the injuries, the mechanics of my running style and the amount and type of training I'd undertaken for the past 15 years. Chris ascertained that my running style was the root cause of the injuries. He treated the injuries and recommended a complete change in running style and orthotics to correct the motion of my feet while running and walking. As a result of the assessment, treatment and orthotics (and following Chris's advice to the letter), I haven't had any further injuries and continue to enjoy my running for what I hope will be many years yet! I am so impressed with the orthotics, I even have a special pair to wear in my high heeled shoes!

Having suffered ongoing back problems for many years, Chris is the first practitioner to have successfully diagnosed the problem and resolved the issue. Fundamentally the problem came down to the feet, despite being an owner of several pairs of orthotics, Chris's gait analysis and new set of orthotics combined with gentle back manipulation and alignment, my back problem has for the first time in 20 plus years been resolved. Chris has a deep understanding of the bio-mechanical cause and effect relationships that occur. I have personally recommended Chris to work colleagues and they too have achieved similar successful outcomes. Highly recommended for his knowledge, professional approach and outcome derived.

After many years of constant back ache and general discomfort, a single session with Chris identified the route of the problem and over a few weeks his treatment changed my life. I now have better balance thanks to the orthotics he supplied and walking and running is pain free. I wish I had found him years ago!

Chris Eke is a complete professional whose magic touch and expertise has saved 4 out of 6 of us of the same family from crippling back issues, ranging from 14 to 45 year olds, by the prescription and casting of our custom-made orthotics. They are of radical importance to our busy lives and we have him alone to thank for our collective physical stamina and well-being.

He also treated one of our teens for tennis elbow with a subtle but highly effective combination of osteopathy and acupuncture, and his varied and interesting manoeuvres for all our forms of back and shoulder pain have been employed to great and lasting effect.

He has a very nurturing personality and engages on the highest level, and seemingly no twinge is too much trouble. We couldn't recommend his talents and abilities more highly.
